In my reciting today, I was struck immediately at how personal God is. Colossians 1:2 says, “to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ AT COLOSSAE.” God through the Apostle Paul is writing specifically to the Colossians. What He says in this letter is different from what He writes to the Philippians, Ephesians, Thessalonians, etc. He didn’t tell Paul to just Xerox the first copy and send it along to the others too. In the same way, God is personal with me. He speaks directly, personally, specifically, and purposefully to ME. We could all read the same text of Scripture, yet He could teach us in infinitely different ways. Praise His holy name.
